Track List:
Don’t worry I’m writing “serious” songs now –
I have a teacher in Brooklyn – and we pretend
what we’re doing is consequential, collectively
choosing to forget that we’ll both die one day,
we’re not even sure when, (it could be tomorrow,)
y ella continúa enviando un correo electrónico de nuestra Zoom programada
and I send her payment through Venmo
sometimes even the day before the lesson
which I would like to think that if I died
before the lesson at least she gets a little
paper because she deserves way more
than I can pay for her electing to
forget with me that we’re both going to die
one day.
Anyway.
I wrote and recorded my first full song on a dingy beige and floral sofa in a living room
with bad lighting in East Dallas, 2019. I had just gotten a divorce, rented a house, and
había mudado con mi hij@ de tres años el mes antes. En 2019, no tenía ningún idea
that what I was writing and recording on my every-other-free-weekend was an EP that I
would finish in my bedroom the week I’d get laid off from my dream job in Los Angeles, 2024.
